Tonight is your last chance to get in on the ground floor of the planning for this year’s 49th Ward Participatory Budgeting Initiative in which 49th Ward residents vote on how to spend my one million dollar ward infrastructure budget.
The FINAL English language Neighborhood Assembly takes place TONIGHT (Tuesday, May 1st) at the Loyola Park Fieldhouse, 1230 W. Greenleaf (at the lake). Pizza courtesy of J.B. Alberto’s Pizza, will be served at 6:30 p.m. and the meeting will start promptly at 7:00 p.m.
A Spanish language Neighborhood Assembly will be held Wednesday night at St. Jerome’s Church Parish Center, 1709 W. Lunt
Each year I receive over $1 million to spend on infrastructure projects in our ward. Rather than decide on my own how to spend the money, I turn that power over to the people of the 49th Ward who decide by a direct vote how the money should be spent.
Meet with your neighbors tonight to learn how the process works and begin to brainstorm about the projects you believe our ward needs.
Last night neighbors packed the room for the Neighborhood Assembly at the Pottawattomie Park Fieldhouse, continuing the energy that the first three Neighborhood Assemblies experienced. Forty-ninth ward residents are clearly hungering to participate in something positive after all the disturbing events occurring in our nation’s capitol.
You can be involved as much or as little as your schedule permits, but get involved. Be a part of this history-making democratic process!
