Enroll in this seven-series Summer Wellness program focused on meditation and light yoga to help women gain clarity and strengthen their foundation on our very own Lake Michigan. The instructor says, “I realized there is a need for women to heal their root. As women, we take on so many different roles in our lives and fail to realize that we are not taking good care of ourselves. We begin to lose confidence in our dreams, our lives start to become repetitive, and we start feeling disconnected. It is time we look into ourselves and reignite the Warrior we have within.
When you commit, you will:
- Gain Confidence
- Increase Financial Security
- Connect with Nature
- Strengthen Your Manifestations
- Gain A Sense of Belonging
- Refine Your Purpose
- Develop A Sense of Connection
- Feel A Sense of Freedom
- Become a Survivor
Connect with like-minded women and go from being a worrier to a Warrior with Certified Life Coach Ce this Summer on Lake Michigan. Tickets start at $15.
Glenwood Sunday Market
When: Sunday, July 1st (9:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.)
Where: 6900 N. Glenwood, right outside of the Lifeline Theatre (one block south of the usual spot)
The Glenwood Sunday Market supports and encourages organic and sustainable growing practices by bringing local farmers to the 49th Ward. All the farmers participating in the Market are located within 200 miles of the 49th Ward and use sustainable or organic farming practices. The principle of “know your farmer, know your food,” is the watchword of the Glenwood Market, which strives to be the greenest farmers’ market in Chicago.
This season, Glenwood Sunday Market launches its “zero waste” initiative, an effort to eliminate landfill waste at the market. Over the course of this season, GSM and their vendors will work to ensure everything a shopper enjoys from the market at the market will be compostable. Glenwood Sunday Market will provide on-site compost disposal by Urban Canopy’s Compost Club, the same company that my 49th Ward Service Office uses for our composting.
The Market runs every Sunday, rain or shine, from June 3rd through October 28th, 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Locally grown fresh produce, baked goods, and packaged foods are featured, as well as educational programs and fun activities for everyone. The market is conveniently located just steps from the Morse Avenue stop on the CTA’s Red Line, and there is ample complimentary bicycle parking at the market’s north end, under the Lunt “L” viaduct.
For information about the vendors present at the market, visit the Glenwood Sunday Market’s vendor page. And don’t forget – the Market is one block south of the usual spot on the same block as Lifeline Theatre.
Coffee Lovers Summer Beach Bash and Celebration!
When: Sunday, July 1st (1:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m.)
Are you a coffee lover looking for other caffeine addicts? Consider joining Sunday’s Northside Curious Coffee Lovers & Explorers Meetup group at Leone Beach. Group members will be barbecuing (including veggie options). Participants are invited to bring a side dish or something else yummy. And, of course, there also will be lots of cold brew coffee available. BYOB if you’re interested in anything else.
This will be an all-afternoon affair so just feel free to drop by at any point throughout the day.
These are just a handful of ideas for a Ward 49 Weekend. Enjoy!
