Back by popular demand, the mobile shredding truck sponsored by Midway Document Destruction will be providing free paper shredding and recycling to residents of the 49th Ward and beyond Saturday, May 6th, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., at the Chicago Math and Science Academy, 7212 N. Clark (next door to the firehouse and across from Touhy Park).
This year we’re hosting the “Shred-a-thon” in conjunction with the 49th Ward’s Participatory Budgeting Election Day. Stop by the Chicago Math and Science Academy to drop off your old or unwanted papers and then vote for your favorite neighborhood improvement proposals. Just make sure you don’t shred your ballot!
The shredding truck is one of my most popular initiatives and a great opportunity to get rid of any old or unwanted papers. Because the documents are shredded, you won’t have to worry about anyone being able to read your private information.
Just bring your old documents to the truck, where they will be shredded on the spot in front of you and then taken away to be recycled.
Bring any documents you no longer need or want but that might contain personal or private information. Examples include:
- Bank Statements
- Outdated medical records
- Pay stubs
- Old bills and receipts
- Credit card offers
- Tax returns older than seven years
Clean out your home office or attic and join us Saturday, May 6th for a day of paper recycling and voting!
