I invite you to attend two workshops this week designed to inform 49th Ward tenants of their rights and responsibilities.
I am teaming up with Northside Community Resources to host two “Renters’ Rights Information Sessions.” These sessions will be available in both Spanish and English, and held simultaneously in two rooms at the Chicago Math and Science Academy, 7212 N. Clark (just south of the City of Chicago Firehouse and across the street from Touhy Park).
In Session 1 (held on Wednesday, June 10th, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.), experts will provide an overview of the Chicago Residential Landlord Tenant Ordinance (RLTO). The RLTO governs the vast majority of residential rental agreements in the City. Knowing your rights and responsibilities is key to a good rental relationship. Be sure you know what’s expected of you and what you can expect in return.
