A juvenile suspect was arrested and charged as an adult with aggravated battery and attempted murder in the June 1st shooting of a 22-year-old man at the corner of Ashland and Jonquil.
In that shooting, a man in a black hooded sweatshirt approached the victim on foot, shot him in the neck and torso and fled in a red vehicle. The victim, who is an alleged street gang member, survived the shooting.
The suspect is scheduled to appear for a bond hearing Thursday afternoon at the Leighton Criminal Court Building.
I congratulate the Chicago Police Department detectives for their hard investigatory work that led to the arrest.
