I am pleased to report that contractors and labor representatives reached a tentative agreement last night ending a three-week strike that shut down construction projects throughout the Chicago area, including the Morse/Glenwood streetscape project.
The deal must still be ratified by union members in a vote this evening, but union officials are confident their members will approve the agreement.

The construction manager of the Morse/Glenwood project tells me work on the site will resume tomorrow. He assured me the project is still scheduled to be completed before the end of the year, barring additional unforeseen work stoppages or other problems.
This is certainly good news for all of us who are eager to see completion of this long-awaited project.
