Due to CTA crews performing track work to reduce slow zones on the Purple Line Express, southbound Red Line trains to 95th will bypass the Jarvis, Morse and Loyola stations. This will take place from 10:00 p.m. Friday, October 23rd, until 8:00 p.m. Sunday, October 25th.
The stations will remain open. But if you wish to travel south from these stations, take a Howard-bound train to Howard and transfer to a 95th Street-bound train. The Howard-bound trains will board at the three stations where southbound trains normally do.
If you wish to travel to these stations from Howard, take a 95th Street-bound train to Granville and transfer to a Howard-bound train.
The work will not effect on-street parking in the area. However, construction noise, including the sounding of horns, will take place periodically throughout the weekend in the area from Loyola station to Howard.
This is the first of five weekends for rerouting of Red Line trains due to Purple Line Express track work. See future emails for further details, or visit the News page on my website.
