Sadly, our dear friend and community historian Mary Jo Doyle passed away on Monday. Mary Jo Doyle was the founder and executive director of the Rogers Park/West Ridge Historical Society and served our community in many other capacities. She will be missed. Our heartfelt condolences go out to Mary Jo’s family and to her great many friends.
Visitation will be from 3-9 pm on Friday, 12/21/07 at John E. Maloney Funeral Home at 1359 West Devon Avenue.
Mass will be held at Saint Margaret Mary’s Church, 2324 W Chase Ave on Saturday, 12/22/07 at 10am.

For those of you who did not know Mary Jo, and for those of you who just wish to remember, you may appreciate viewing Eve Brownstone’s oral history interview with Mary Jo. Mary Jo worked tirelessly to record the history of our community. We are thankful that Eve has captured a bit of Mary Jo’s personal history in this YouTube video which is also available at rogerspark.com.
