Dear Neighbor,
The 49th Ward is filled with green resources and neighbors who want to make our neighborhood a more sustainable and livable community. On Saturday, May 2nd, they will all come together under one roof.
Join your neighbors for the 49th Ward’s “GO LOCAL” RESOURCE FAIR & ECO-TEAM BUILDING, Saturday, May 2nd, 12 Noon to 4:00 p.m., at the Loyola Park Fieldhouse, 1230 W. Greenleaf (at the Lake), 2nd Floor.
Sponsored by the 49th Ward Green Corps and my office, the resource fair will bring together dozens of local businesses, organizations and experts, who will be on hand to help you lower your carbon footprint and live more sustainably here in our community.
Come for an introduction to local holistic health care providers, garden and urban agriculture experts, re-use and recycle opportunities, building and household materials and supplies, food purveyors, and more.
If your business or organization serves the 49th Ward and you wish to be included in the resource fair, please email BarbaraMoore@Ward49.com. There is no fee to participate, but there are some criteria. We also ask that you bring your own folding table and arrive at 11:00 a.m. to set up before the event and stay until the event ends at 4:00 p.m.
During the fair we will have opportunities for small “break-out” groups to meet as local eco-teams to discuss environmental issues and consider ways to take action locally.
The resource fair is being coordinated by the 49th Ward Green Corps, and organized by volunteers, Polyanna Wolf, Theo Harduval, Maria Davies, Susan Lannin and others. If you have an interest in joining the49th Ward Green Corps and putting your environmental passions into practice, please visitwww.49thwardgreencorps.org
Sincerely,
Joe Moore
