This popular event, hosted by the Rogers Park Business Alliance, Rogers Park Provisions and Rogers Park Social, takes place this Sunday, July 22nd, 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Glenwood, west of the tracks, between Morse and Farwell.
Tickets to the event are $25 if purchased in advance and $30 at the door. Purchase your tickets here.
All proceeds from the ticket sales and 10% of all wine purchases and pre-orders will go directly to help our neighbors in need purchase fresh, local food at our farmers market.
Twenty percent of Rogers Park residents are “food insecure,” meaning they lack consistent access to enough nutritious food for an active healthy life.
Each season, the Glenwood Sunday Market welcomes hundreds of shoppers who use SNAP benefits to provide fresh food for their families. Thanks to grant funding from Experimental Station/Link UP Illinois and donations from generous local businesses and people like you, the Market provides triple-dollar matching grants on Link purchases, up to $25 per shopper per market day.
This means that people using SNAP/Link/EBT cards for $25 can purchase $75 worth of food at the market, helping to stretch their scarce food dollars and allowing our farmers to earn a living wage.
As reported in the Washington Post, the company that processes SNAP benefits at 40% of the farmers markets nationwide is ending its service at the end of the month, leaving about 1,700 farmers markets that offer SNAP unable to serve their low-income customers. Thankfully, the Glenwood Sunday Market has a backup plan in place so people shopping with Link at our farmers market will see no interruption in services.
The Market is on track to give away over $20,000 in Link matching grants this season. You can support the Market’s food access programs simply by attending the Wine Stroll and tasting over 60 wines!
Only a limited number of tickets to the event will be sold.
Purchase your tickets here at the early bird discounted rate and guarantee your place at the wine stroll.
Thanks for your support of the Market!
