Are you looking for a safe and fun way to celebrate Halloween with your kids right here in the neighborhood?
I’ve got a great idea for you!
Join me for the the second annual ROGERS PARK HALLOWEEN PARTY, Saturday, October 31st, 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., in Jarvis Square (Jarvis and Greenview).
Plenty of games, pumpkin painting, cookie decorating and (good) fortune telling fun await you. From 4:00 to 4:30, the fabulous Nadine will regale you with wonderful stories. From 4:30 to 5:00, the Sullivan High School Steel Drum Band will entertain you with calypso music, and from 5:00 to 5:45 the Family Matters Drum Team will amaze you with astounding drumming skills.
All the while, kids can search for treasures in a giant spider web, hear about their future from Happy the Medium, and bob for apples in a ball tank.
Of course no Halloween is complete without trick or treating. Join other kids and their parents as they trick-or-treat on historic Jarvis Avenue, between Sheridan Road and Paulina Street. My 49th Ward Service Office at Jarvis and Greenview will be open during the festivities, so make sure you stop by for some treats!
I hope to see you and your kids on Saturday!
