Thanks to thorough detective work and quick-thinking 24th District beat officers, two suspected serial burglars are under arrest.
Last week, police arrested Andrew Graszer, age 27, who is suspected in a series of burglaries of Rogers Park taverns, restaurants and other businesses. Graszer was recorded on surveillance cameras during some of the alleged burglaries and a warrant was issued for his arrest. Police arrested him last Tuesday near his home and recovered a large amount of property taken in the burglaries.
Graszer was charged with six commercial burglaries. A number of business owners, who were victms of the burglaries, have shared with me praise for the work of the detectives who investigated the burglaries and the officers who arrested the alleged offender.
This arrest comes on the heels of the arrest of another suspected serial burglar. Police last month arrested Arrmon Bulley, age 19, who is accused of a string of home burglaries. A 24th District police officer spotted Bulley on the street and recognized him as a suspect wanted for the burglaries. Officer promptly arrested him without incident.
As a result of the good work of our police officers, our homes and businesses are safer.
I know you join me in congratulating our detectives, who laid the groundwork for the arrests, and our 24th District police officers who carried them out.
