REMINDER: Recycle Your Old Electronics and Shred Your Paper on Saturday

April 12, 2013

Dear Neighbor,

Don’t forget I am hosting two FREE recycling events TOMORROW (Saturday, April 13th), 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., at my 49th Ward Service Office, 7356 N. Greenview (at Jarvis).

Two very reputable recycling companies will be on hand to accept your old electronics and shred your old documents and other paper.

RECYCLE YOUR OLD ELECTRONICS

SHRED AND RECYCLE YOUR OLD PAPERS AND DOCUMENTS

RECYCLE YOUR OLD ELECTRONICS

Recycle your old electronics in a safe and secure fashion.  COM2 Recycling Solutions will be collecting old electronics for recycling TOMORROW (Saturday, April 13th), 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at my Ward Service Office.  Under COM2 Recycling Solutions’ state-of-the-art processing system, all data is destroyed in a secure fashion and the equipment they recycle is made totally inoperable.

The company maintains a 99% recovery rate, so you know your electronics will stay out of landfills.

COM2 Recycling Services will accept the following items for recycling:

  • Computers and peripherals
  • Printers
  • Fax machines
  • Scanners
  • Cables
  • Telephones
  • Cell phones
  • Small appliances
  • Televisions
  • Video Cassette Recorders
  • DVD players
  • Cameras
  • Software
  • Compact discs
  • DVDs

COM2 Recycling Services will NOT accept the following items:

  • Non-electronics
  • Hazardous materials
  • Large Appliances
  • Explosives
  • Flammable materials

SHRED AND RECYCLE YOUR OLD PAPERS AND DOCUMENTS

Back by popular demand, a mobile shredding truck sponsored by Midway Document Destruction’s Mobile Shredding Truck will be providing free paper shredding and recycling to residents of the 49th Ward.

Stop by my office at 7356 N. Greenview (at Jarvis) TOMORROW (Saturday, April 13th), from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., and get rid of any old or unwanted papers. Because the documents are shredded, you won’t have to worry about anyone being able to read your private information.  Just bring your old documents to the truck, where they will be shredded on the spot in front of you and then taken away to be recycled.

Bring any documents you no longer need or want but that might contain personal or private information. Examples include:

  • Bank Statements
  • Outdated medical records
  • Pay stubs
  • Old bills and receipts
  • Credit card offers
  • Tax returns older than seven years

I’ll see you on Saturday!

Sincerely,

Joe Moore
