We’ve got an action-packed Saturday morning for you in the 49th Ward Service Office. Start your day by voting early in the 49th Ward’s Participatory Budgeting election and then join us for the 27th Annual 49th Ward Spring Clean-Up! For information on the Spring Clean-up, scroll to the bottom of this email.
Early voting starts Saturday, April 22, at the 49th Ward Service Office, 7356 N. Greenview (at Jarvis). No, there aren’t any politicians on the ballot. Instead, you will get to vote for the ward improvement projects you would most like to see implemented this year.
This is all a part of my acclaimed Participatory Budgeting process, and the projects on the ballot were all proposed by your 49th Ward neighbors.
Though the official Participatory Budgeting Election is still two weeks away (May 6) we’re holding early voting starting this weekend and leading right up until Election Day.
You also can vote online f you prefer. Read how to vote online.

I’ll see you at the polls!
Spruce up the Ward in the 27th Annual 49th Ward Spring Clean-Up
After you cast your early vote Saturday, join hundreds of 49th Ward residents as we fan out across the neighborhood, picking up trash, cutting down weeds and planting flowers. We’ll meet Saturday, April 22nd, 9 a.m., for coffee and rolls at the 49th Ward Service Office, 7356 N. Greenview (at Jarvis) and head out into the neighborhood for some sprucing up.
We’ll return to the office at lunchtime for a fabulous “Taste of the 49th Ward,” featuring food from around the world donated by a vast array of 49th Ward restaurants, guaranteed to satisfy every culinary taste.
This is a wonderful time for block clubs, condominium associations, church groups, and lots of other organizations to come together with individual members of the community to help get the ward ready for the spring and summer. Bring the kids!
To register for this event, reply to this e-mail or call our office at 773-338-5796 and let us know how many folks you’re bringing.
I’ll see you Saturday!
