REMINDER: Garden party and Rogers Park Garden Group meeting tonight in our backyard

July 12, 2016

Dear Neighbor,

Don’t forget Barbara and I are hosting a garden party and Rogers Park Garden Group membership meeting TONIGHT (Tuesday, July 12th), 7:00 p.m. in the backyard of our home at 1431 W. Fargo.

BioswaleWe’ll enjoy delicious Mexican fare offered by Rogers Park’s own El Pulpo Loco Restaurant, 6619 N. Clark, and some liquid refreshments, including chilled margaritas.

Join our guest Burrell Poe, RainReady Outreach Coordinator for the Center for Neighborhood Technology, in our rain-ready backyard. Burrell will talk to us about why being rain-ready is important and the easy things you can do in your yard to make the rain work for your garden while avoiding runoff and flooding.

Walk the yard with your drink and hear from Barbara about the “dry creek” that directs roof runoff and other water-saving design ideas in our butterfly and bird gardens.

This event is free for Rogers Park Garden Group members. A $5 donation to the Garden Group is requested of other guests.

Rogers Park Garen Group LogoOr for $15, you can become a Rogers Park Garden Group member, which entitles you to free admission to our backyard event and the remaining Garden Group speaker series, the Garden Meander, discounts on spring sale pre-orders, and all other events and activities. Members also receive a regular email newsletter.

If you have never been to a Rogers Park Garden Group meeting, this is a wonderful time to begin. (In case of rain, bring an umbrella for the garden tour and we’ll enjoy our cocktails, food, and presentation indoors).

Barbara and I are looking forward to spending a delightful summer evening with you.

We hope to see you there!

Sincerely,

Joe Moore
