Dear Neighbor,
Colder days and longer nights are upon us, which means higher gas and electric bills. Learn how to cut your utility bills at two workshops sponsored by my office, the 49th Ward Green Corps and State Rep. Kelly Cassidy.
The workshops take place this Wednesday, December 12th, 6:00 p.m., at the United Church of Rogers Park, 1545 W. Morse (at Ashland), 3rd Floor (free parking available on the southwest corner of Morse and Ashland).
At 6:00 p.m., experts from the Citizens Utility Board will provide you with a one-on-one analysis of your utility bills to help find ways to save. We also will be distributing information on energy distribution fraud, which has been on the increase in Chicago. Make sure to bring copies of your utility bills (gas, electric, heating, etc.).
At 7:00 p.m., Energy Impact Illinois–a program of the U.S. Department of Energy, the utilities and theCenter for Neighborhood Technology–will host a workshop on how you can get a FREE home energy assessment and an instant rebate of up to $1,750 for insulation, air sealing and appliance safety. This is the lowest cost, biggest impact work that can be done to make your home more comfortable while using less energy.
Visit www.EnergyImpactIllinois.org for more information on this program.
If you have questions, please contact the 49th Ward Green Corps facilitator, Bob Fuller atbobfuller71@yahoo.com or Representative Cassidy’s district office at 773-784-2002 orrepcassidy@gmail.com.
