If you are a regular follower of my “Follow Me on Friday” series, you might recall that I promised a special“Follow Me on Friday” tomorrow. I’m afraid I’m going to have to postpone those plans.
I’ve been trying for weeks without success to obtain affordable airline tickets to visit my son who is spending the spring semester of his college junior year studying in South Africa. Just last week, I was able to find a flight to South Africa for my wife Barbara and me using miles! As I write this, I’m on a layover in Germany on my way to South Africa, so obviously I won’t be hosting a Follow Me on Friday this week. We’ll continue withFollow Me when I return at the end of the month.
Never fear, though. There’s another fun event this weekend where you can fill your belly with delicious food and support a worthy cause at the same time:
Tickets to the event are just $25 in advance and $30 at the door. To order your tickets in advance, click the link below:
Held in conjunction with this Sunday’s Glenwood Winter Market, HEAT IT UP! will feature both professional and amateur local cooks offering up some of the best tasting chili on Chicago’s north side! The first prize winner will get to compete in the famous Retro on Roscoe Chili Cook-Off with a chance to advance to the International Chili Society Cook-Off Finals!

Come shop at the Glenwood Winter Market at 6956 N. Glenwood and then go next door for the tasting and sample the best chili in the 49th Ward!
