Happy New Year! We’re celebrating a new year with a NEW WEBSITE at ward49.com.
Take a look, and you’ll find we’ve reorganized the ward website into key categories to help serve you better and get you the information you need.
Some of those key categories include:
- Ward & City Services, where you can find garbage and blue cart pickup schedules, information on how to request city services, and Streets and Sanitation services.
- Participatory Budgeting, where you can learn how 49th Ward citizens have decided how to spend $1 million on ward infrastructure improvements since 2010.
- News and Calendar & Events, pages that will keep you well informed about ward happenings.
I urge you to take a few minutes to view the new site.
Also, let us know what you think by email (firstname.lastname@example.org) or phone at 773.338.5796.
New look for emails, too
Undoubtedly, you have noticed my emails to you will have a new look, as well. Because more and more people are reading my emails on mobile devices, such as phones and tablets, I’ve had to change the layout of the emails to make them more “responsive” to those devices. The emails will no longer have the look of a print piece–in columns–with copy that wraps around photos. But the new design will allow my emails to better fit smaller screens and hence become more phone and tablet-friendly.
As resources permit, we’re going to make the website phone and tablet-friendly, as well. In short, I am aiming to provide all my constituents with a more positive online interaction with my office and me.
