I’m pleased to report that new traffic signals have been installed at the intersection of Clark and Greenleaf. I requested the signals some time ago after the occurance of several accidents involving both pedestrians and automobiles. The City of Chicago added the intersection to its list of requests for funding from the Illinois Department of Transportation, and the state came through with the funding. The new signals should help prevent future accidents.
I have also secured funding for new signals at another dangerous intersection–Clark and North Shore. New traffic signals will be installed at that intersection this summer, which will help to insure the safe passage of children attending Kilmer School and Sullivan High School.
I will continue to keep you informed of capital improvements in the 49th Ward.
