Moore/Steans Sunday Picnic to Feature Jesse White Tumblers

August 17, 2012

Dear Neighbor,

Join State Senator Heather Steans and me for an afternoon of family fun at the 22nd Annual 49th WARD BACK TO SCHOOL PICNIC!  The picnic will be held Sunday, August 26th, 12 noon to 4:00 p.m., in Loyola Park at Farwell and the Lake.

The picnic will feature an appearance by the world famous Jesse White Tumbling Team.  The Tumblers have been thrilling audiences since 1959.  Their acrobatic performances can be seen during half-time shows for the National Basketball Association, the National Football League and Major League Baseball games.

We’re also serving up free food, soft drinks and music and offering a host of games and prizes.  We’ll have bingo for the seniors and face painting for the kids, a DJ spinning tunes, dance contests, a moonwalk and other large, inflatable carnival toys.  And we’ll be giving away free school supplies to families!

This year, I’m proud to have State Senator Heather Steans join me as the lead sponsor for this event.  Also joining me as co-sponsors are Comcast, Peoples Gas, ComEd, Loyola University,  S&C Electric Company, and Urban Equities and local leaders, including County Commissioner Larry Suffredin, Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky, County Clerk David Orr, State Representative Kelly Cassidy and Committeeman David Fagus.

I’ve been hosting this picnic since 1991 as a reminder to kids and their parents of the importance of returning to school.  But this is also a COMMUNITY PICNIC for people of all ages, so stop by even if you’re kids are grown or you’ve never had kids.

In short, it will be a fun day for EVERYONE!

For more information, please reply to this e-mail or call my Ward Service Office at 773-338-5796.

Heather and I look forward to seeing you on Sunday!

Sincerely,

Joe Moore
