Saturday, March 15th, is your last chance to vote early for the March primary election. Early voting polling stations are open today (Friday) and tomorrow from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Below is information on Early Voting followed by my recommendations on the election, including the judicial races:
If you need additional inspiration before you vote, please stop by the Ethiopian Diamond II Restaurant (7537 N. Clark) tomorrow (Saturday, March 15) at 12 noon, for a complimentary lunch and presentation by Rogers Park resident Soraya Sheppard, a South African human rights activist who risked her freedom in the fight for the right to vote and against the brutal Apartheid regime.
Sonya will be joined by fellow South African native, Thabo Mzilikazi–known by his artist name Jabu. Together they fought against seemingly impossible odds to help win the right to vote for non-White South Africans. Both used art to protest apartheid, and will be sharing their work, as well as the work of other South African artists, who struggled against Apartheid.
