The last of the Neighborhood Assemblies take place this week and it’s your final chance to get in on the ground floor in the 49th Ward 2012 Participatory Budgeting Initiative.
I have been hosting “Neighborhood Assemblies” throughout the 49th Ward where residents have been sharing ideas for ward improvement projects that will be submitted to the voters in next spring’s Participatory Budgeting Election. The final Neighborhood Assemblies are this week.
Below is the schedule:
Neighborhood Assembly Schedule
(Note: Complimentary pizza will be provided at 6:30 p.m. before all meetings. The meetings will begin promptly at 7:00 p.m.)
Tuesday, Nov. 15, St. Jerome Church Parish Center, 1709 W. Lunt (Spanish language)
Wednesday, Nov. 16, Alden Village North, 7464 N. Sheridan
Thursday, Nov. 17, Willye White Park Fieldhouse, 1610 W. Howard
At the Neighborhood Assemblies, you’ll learn what the 49th Ward Participatory Budgeting Initiative is all about and share your ideas on the types of projects that should be funded next year by my discretionary capital budget. As noted above, pizza and refreshments will be served at 6:30 p.m., courtesy of JB Alberto’s Pizza, and the meeting will start at 7:00 p.m.
Also, don’t forget to join my wife, Barbara, and me this Saturday night as we host a benefit in our home for the 49th Ward Participatory Budgeting Initiative. The award-winning Theo Ubique Cabaret Theatre will present a musical revue and we’ll provide drinks and a small plated dinner.
The fun takes place Saturday, November 19th, 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. (musical revue, 7:30 p.m.) at my home, 1431 W. Fargo (just west of Sheridan Road). Tickets are $50 per person or $75 for a couple.
