Please join the many friends of the late Committeeman David Fagus as we honor his memory by naming a portion of Greenleaf Avenue “Honorary David Fagus Way.”
The dedication ceremony takes place this Sunday, July 5th, 1:00 p.m., at the northeast corner of Greenleaf and Ravenswood. David’s mother, Dorothy, and brother, Mark, will be present at the ceremony.
David served as the 49th Ward Democratic Committeeman for over 20 years. His involvement and commitment to the Rogers Park community, however, extended will beyond politics. He served as a member, board member, contributor and volunteer in countless projects, committees and organizations.

David passed away last Christmas Eve after a long and valiant battle against kidney disease. His family and friends thought it would be a fitting tribute to dedicate in his honor the portion of Greenleaf Avenue in front of the 49th Ward Democratic Party headquarters where he spent many evenings and weekends volunteering his time on behalf of the 49th Ward Democratic Party. I was happy to oblige by introducing and passing an honorary street dedication ordinance in the City Council last spring.
Please take a brief moment of your time this holiday weekend to join us for this fitting tribute to the life and legacy of David Fagus.
