You are invited to join the Rogers Park Business Alliance (RPBA) and me next Tuesday, October 17th, at 6:30 p.m., as we unveil the Vision Clark Street Master Plan, a look into the future of Clark Street! The event will take place at The Diamond Room, 7545 N. Clark (just north of the Ethiopian Diamond II Restaurant).
The Master Plan is the result of an eight-month planning process led by RRBA and the 11-member Vision Clark Street Steering Committee, comprised of residents, business owners and community stakeholders.
Working with planning consultant, The Lakota Group, RPBA and the Steering Committee gathered input and creative ideas for Clark Street improvements from Rogers Park residents and Clark Street business owners. Over 350 people attended two community open houses to share their ideas and and another 300 individuals completed online and paper surveys. Board members of the Clark/Morse/Glenwood Special Service Area #24 also weighed in with their thoughts.
The plan will be used as a resource and guide for RPBA, my office, business owners, community members, stakeholders and YOU as we work together to bring Clark Street into the future.
Highlights of the Vision Clark Street Plan include:
- Inventive ideas for storefront and facade improvements
- Improved streetscapes prioritizing pedestrians
- A new branding concept for Clark Street
- Intersection improvements at the Clark Street gateways at Howard and Devon
Want to get involved? After the presentation, sign up to become part of the important implementation process.
Free parking is available behind The Diamond Room and light refreshments will be provided.
I look forward to seeing you next Tuesday evening, as we share our exciting plans!
