Dear Neighbors,
As you know, I have raised serious concerns about the level of service in the CTA these past nine months. Now with “Three-Track Construction” underway, those concerns are all the more grave.
I have called upon the City of Chicago to hold hearings to look into these many issues of service and safety. Unfortunately, the Mayor’s Office has opted to postpone these hearings until after the election cycle.
Until these hearings are held, we must keep the pressure on the CTA and City Hall to respond to our community. Organizations including the Edgewater Community Council and the Rogers Park Community Council are working hard to make this happen. We hope you will join us.
It will be very helpful to this cause if you keep a log of your personal service delays that we can enter into the public record. Further, if you notice anything that strikes you as a safety concern, please call that in to the proper authorities and also share that information with my office so we can maintain a record and keep the pressure on for these things to be addressed now – not later.
Please send me the details of any incidents you encounter at ward49@cityofchicago.org or submit hard copies to me at:
