Join your neighbors for a fun-filled afternoon as we remind ourselves and our neighbors to STAND UP AND BE COUNTED!
ROGERS PARK COUNTS: A CENSUS WALK FOR ROGERS PARK will take place this Sunday, March 28th, 12 Noon, at Willye White Park, 1610 W. Howard (at Ashland). Sponsored by the Rogers Park Complete Count Committee, the walk will encourage everyone to complete and send in their 2010 census form. Free gifts will be available while supplies last.
The census is a count of everyone in the United States, both citizens and non-citizens, and is conducted once every ten years.
Every year more than $400 million in federal funds is awarded to states and communities based on census data. Census data help determine how that money is allocated to communities across the nation for important projects such as roads, hospitals, schools, and social services. Simply put, an accurate census count ensures that we in the 49th Ward get our fair share of that money.
By now you should have received your census form in the mail. If you haven’t yet done so, please fill it out and return it by mail. The questionnaire asks only a few simple questions and takes just a few minutes to complete. The Census Bureau does not release or share information that identifies individual respondents or their household.
