The 49th Ward Green Corps and my office are bringing back our popular Green Workshop Series with“Saving Green Together,” a series of workshops on saving money through weatherizing your house, apartment, condo or building for all seasons.
The workshop series begins Monday, March 28th, 6:30-8:30 p.m., at the United Church of Rogers Park, 1545 W. Morse (at Ashland), 3rd Floor and continues for the next five Monday evenings. Free parking is available across the street on the southwest corner of Morse and Ashland.
We kick off the workshop series this Monday with a workshop entitled “A Blueprint for Saving Green at Home.” Led by Pam and Lan Richart of the Eco-Justice Collaborative, this workshop will consider the importance of home weatherization in combating air pollution and climate change. Though saving money is important; it’s about saving our planet, as well. At this workshop, we will also learn how to conduct a home energy audit.
To obtain a complete schedule of the Saving Green Together workshops, scroll down to the bottom of this e-mail or download a poster for the series here:
Please feel welcome to post it in your building, at the businesses you frequent, at your place of worship, etc. If you difficulty downloading this attachment please e-mail my office at email@example.com and we’ll be happy to e-mail you a copy.
Leading the workshop series will be members of the 49th Ward Green Corps Leadership Circle. This is a group of environmental leaders who reside in the community or have long ties to our neighborhood and who have volunteered their time to give direction, provide expertise, and support the work of the 49th Ward Green Corps Action Team. I simply can’t thank them enough for their hard work and commitment to our community.
Supporting this workshop series will be many members of the 49th Ward Green Corps Action Team. These are residents like yourself who have taken the time to engage in environmental stewardship training provided by the City of Chicago’s Department of the Environment Conservation Corps and who have banded together to work on making the 49th Ward a more sustainable and livable community.
Come meet these wonderful neighbors, and join the movement to save our planet and improve our community. The workshops are free.
Stop by our workshop on Monday, March 28th, and the following five Mondays, at 6:30 p.m. at the United Church of Rogers Park, 1545 W. Morse on the 2nd Floor.
