I’m pleased to offer a very special workshop for parents, expectant parents and anyone else who loves children and cares about their future. “Green Parenting 101” is the latest workshop in the WHY GREEN MATTERS HERE series sponsored by my office and the 49th Ward Green Corps.
This free workshop will be held on Monday, March 3rd, 6:30 p.m., at the Loyola Park Fieldhouse, 2nd Floor, 1230 W. Greenleaf (at the Lake).
Green Parenting 101 will guide parents of young children and expectant parents through the various lifestyle options and consumer choices available to families, with an emphasis on reducing the impact on our planet and enhancing your baby’s health. The class will present research on a variety of timely topics of concern to families, tips for instituting change in your family, and ways to juggle restraints on family finances, time and energy.
The workshop will be presented by Rogers Park resident and new parent, Manda Aufochs Gillespie. Manda is a long-time environmentalist and the author of “The Green Mama Blog” and RogersParkParents.com.
The WHY GREEN MATTERS HERE workshops have experienced overflow crowds and have been chock-full of useful information. Green Parenting 101 will be no exception. Don’t miss out on this informative session!
