This week is National Influenza Vaccination Week, and the Chicago Department of Public Health will provide free H1N1 flu shots this Saturday, January 16th, 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at my 49th Ward Service Office, 7356 N. Greenview (at Jarvis).
It’s not too late to get vaccinated. According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the flu season is far from over. Flu season typically lasts until May, and it’s possible that there will be additional waves of flu illness.
H1N1 is still circulating and it’s still dangerous. I urge you to get yourself and your family vaccinated. All individuals, ages six months and up, are eligible to receive the vaccine.
I look forward to seeing you on Saturday.
