Dear Neighbor,
Grab a blanket and picnic dinner and join me for my annual MOVIE IN THE PARK this Thursday, August 30th, at dusk (approximately 7:30 p.m.) at Touhy Park, 7358 N. Paulina (at Jarvis). Free popcorn will be offered while it lasts.
This is a rescheduled showing of A Dolphin Tale. The Touhy Park Movie in the Park was scheduled earlier this month, but was postponed due to inclement weather. Thursday night’s weather forecast calls for perfect conditions.
A Dolphin Tale is a family drama film directed by Charles Martin Smith from a screenplay by Karen Janszen and Noam Dromi and a book of the same name. It stars Harry Connick, Jr., Ashley Judd, and Morgan Freeman.
The book and film are inspired by the true story of Winter, a bottlenose dolphin who loses her tail in a crab trap, and Sawyer, an 11-year old boy who befriends her. Without her tail, Winter may not survive. But with Sawyer’s devotion, a marine biologist’s (Harry Connick, Jr.) expertise and the brilliance of a prosthetist (Morgan Freeman) charged with creating a new tail, Winter may receive a second chance at life.

Joining me as sponsors for this year’s Movie in the Park are the Touhy Park Advisory Council, State Senator Heather Steans, Cook County Commissioner Larry Suffredin, State Representative Kelly Cassidy and the Kiwanis Club of Rogers Park.
Enjoy the show!
Sincerely,
Joe Moore
