Located at 7007 N. Glenwood (just north of Lunt on the east side of the CTA tracks), Redwood Literacy offers instruction in both individual and group settings for children and adults with language-based learning disabilities, such as dyslexia, dysgraphia and dyscalculia.
Join me at Redwood Literacy this Friday, November 30th, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Enjoy a slice of delicious JB Alberto’s Pizza, sip a complementary glass of beer, wine or a soft drink, and learn how this academy can help you or someone you love.
Founded by Rogers Park residents, Kait and Andre Freriante, Redwood Literacy offers research-based reading, writing and math instruction at affordable prices for people from all socio-economic backgrounds. With a unique small-group setting that capitalizes on the positive social dynamic of collaborative learning, Redwood Literacy offers rates that are up to 50% less than similar agencies while still providing high-quality, individualized instruction.
Redwood Literacy uses the Wilson Reading System, a research-based reading and spelling programs for people who have dyslexia, dysgraphia or general literacy struggles that negatively affect their leaning and self-confidence.
Both Kait and Andre are dyslexia practitioners and certified Wilson teachers.
Kait has worked in a variety of public and private schools over the last ten years. She is trained in visualizing and verbalizing and is a certified learning behavior specialist. She works with a wide range of students of all ages and takes a customized, best practices approach to help her clients develop strategies and master skills to overcome their learning obstacles.
Andre is a certified social studies teacher and dyslexia practitioner with teaching experience in both junior high and high school English and history. He holds a masters degree in education and specializes in young adults and working professionals. Andre’s laid back demeanor encourages reluctant readers and writers to feel confident and safe to reach their full potential.
Kait and Andre are supported by a strong staff that includes a number of masters degree holders.
Contact Redwood Literacy for more information on how they may help you or someone you know with a learning disability.
Please join me this Friday as we cut the ribbon on this wonderful new business that will help so many in our community!
Follow Me on Friday is one of my efforts to encourage my constituents to sample some of the 49th Ward’s finest restaurants, pubs, businesses and festivals. About once or twice a month on my Facebook page, I post the name and location of a local restaurant, pub, business or festival where I’ll be hanging out after work on Friday. The establishment offers specials for all my Facebook followers and their friends. It’s a great opportunity for you to check out one of the fine local 49th Ward businesses you may not have visited before.
