Bop ‘N’ Grill, 6604 N. Sheridan (just north of Albion), is playing host to my “Follow Me on Friday” event thisFriday, June 21st, 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Burgers are the driving force on the menu at Bop ‘N’ Grill, where Korean fast food meets American familiarity.
“‘Bop’ means rice in Korean; so, we kind of wanted to infuse, because I’m Korean so I wanted to do a little bit of Korean and American kind of thing going,” says Bop ‘N’ Grill owner Will Song.
The menu at this casual counter-service spot includes inventive burgers and Korean-Japanese fare like teriyaki dishes and bi bim bop-style entrees, served with rice and a fried egg on top. The eatery also offers Korean-style short ribs.
If you like a slightly more Americanized entree, you can opt for one of the half-dozen types of Angus burgers. Some burgers feature a distinctly Korean flair, such as the kimchee burger topped with Korean chili paste aioli; another burger includes smoked Gouda and a braised mushroom confit.
Bop ‘N’ Grill caught the eye of “Diner’s, Drive-Ins and Dives”host Guy Fieri (left), who stopped by the restaurant last year to pay a visit. For a link to the show, which featured Bop ‘N’ Grill, click on the link below:
Will plans to offer up samples of his scrumptious Korean/American fusion fare and my staff and I will be serving complimentary wine, beer and soft drinks on Bop ‘N’ Grill’s patio. Please join us for a wonderful summer evening in Rogers Park!
“Follow Me on Friday” is one of my efforts to encourage my constituents to sample some of the 49th Ward’s finest restaurants, pubs and businesses. Each week on my Facebook page, I post the name and location of a local restaurant, pub or business where I’ll be hanging out after work on Friday. The establishment offers specials for all my Facebook followers and their friends. It’s a great opportunity for you to check out one of the fine local 49th Ward businesses you may not have visited before.
