Don’t forget, the 49th Ward’s Participatory Budgeting Election Day is tomorrow (Saturday, April 30th). Polls will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Your polling place is at the Chicago Math and Science Academy, 7212 N. Clark Street (just south of the firehouse and across from Touhy Park).
This year you will be asked to vote on two separate ballot questions. First, you will be asked to vote on the percentage of the ward infrastructure ballot that you believe should be devoted exclusively to street and alley resurfacing and sidewalk repairs.
Second you will be asked to vote on how the remainder of the ward’s infrastructure ballot should be allocated. You will be given four votes to choose among eight project proposals that were developed, researched and proposed by your neighbors, not politicians and bureaucrats. And it will be you and your neighbors, not City Hall, who decide which projects will move forward.
You can vote electronically or on a paper ballot.

For the first time in participatory budgeting elections, you can VOTE ONLINE from the comfort of your home, office, coffee shop or any location with an internet connection. For information on how to vote online, CLICK HERE.
You can also VOTE IN PERSON today (Friday, April 29th) at my 49th Ward Service Office, 7356 N. Greenview (at Jarvis). The office will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Electronic and paper ballot voting options will be available.
To encourage you to vote, I will be hosting a special “Follow Me on Friday” at my office(7356 N. Greenview) TONIGHT (Friday, April 29th) from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Please vote early at my office and then join us for some delicious fried chicken, mac and cheese and liquid refreshments (margaritas, beer, wine and soft drinks will be on tap).
If I don’t see you tonight, I hope to see you at the polls on Saturday!
