Don’t forget, Election Day is tomorrow (Saturday, May 7th). Polls will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Your polling place is at the Chicago Math and Science Academy, 7212 N. Clark Street (across from Touhy Park).
Be a part of history and vote in the only Participatory Budgeting election in the United States, where the voters themselves decide directly how to spend their tax dollars!
This year you will be asked to vote on two separate ballot questions. First, you will be asked to vote on the percentage of the ward infrastructure ballot that you believe should be devoted exclusively to street resurfacing.
Second you will be asked to vote on how the remainder of the ward’s infrastructure ballot should be allocated. You will be given six votes to choose among 21 project proposals that were developed, researched and proposed by your neighbors, not by politicians or bureaucrats. And it will be you and your neighbors, not City Hall, who decide which projects will move forward.
Information street resurfacing and all 21 proposed projects will be on display throughout the day at the Chicago Math and Science Academy.
