I am writing to remind you of an important meeting tonight.
The Rogers Park Business Alliance, the official chamber of commerce and business development organization for Rogers Park, and Northside Community Resources (NCR), Rogers Park’s long-established social service agency, are hosting a Forum on Affordable Housing Development in Rogers Park.
Learn about affordable housing in Chicago and Rogers Park and the tools that are available to help our community maintain its economic diversity and remain home to people of all incomes.
NCR Development Director, Derick Anderson, will moderate the forum, which will include presentations from four experts in the field:
- Beth Demes, Board Member, Illinois Housing Council
- Jack Markowski, President, Community Investment Corporation, and Board Member, Chicago Housing Authority
- Cary Steinbuck, Director of PRA Acquisitions and Special Initiatives, Chicago Housing Authority
- Kara Breems, Project Manager, City of Chicago Department of Planning and Development
After their presentations, the panelists will respond to questions from the moderator and community residents attending the meeting.
As Chairman of the City Council Committee on Housing and Real Estate and alderman of one of the most economically diverse neighborhoods in the nation, I know first hand how affordable housing can both revitalize a community and protect its diversity.
What do you want our community to look like? How can we use affordable housing tools to get there? Join me at tonight’s forum to find out more.
