This is a reminder that the mobile shredding truck sponsored by Midway Document Destruction will be providing free paper shredding and recycling to residents of the 49th Ward and beyond TOMORROW (Saturday, May 6th) from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., at the Chicago Math and Science Academy, 7212 N. Clark (next to the firehouse and across from Touhy Park).
The shredding truck is one of my most popular initiatives and a great opportunity to get rid of any old or unwanted papers. Because the documents are shredded, you won’t have to worry about anyone being able to read your private information.
Just haul your old documents to the truck, where they will be shredded on the spot in front of you and then taken away to be recycled. Bring any documents you no longer need or want but that might contain personal or private information. Examples include:
- Bank Statements
- Outdated medical records
- Pay stubs
- Old bills and receipts
- Credit card offers
- Tax returns older than seven years
After you drop off your papers, vote in the 49th Ward Participatory Budgeting Election, which is taking place at the same time inside the school. This is the election where the residents of the 49th Ward vote on how to spend the ward’s discretionary infrastructure budget. Exhibits detailing each of the project proposals will be on display.
So clean out your home office or attic and join us this Saturday, May 6th, for a day of paper recycling and voting!
