Please join me this Monday, November 19th, at 10:30 a.m., to celebrate the “Grand Re-Opening” of the Dominick’s store located at Gateway Plaza (Howard and Clark).
If you haven’t visited the store recently, I urge you to stop by and give it a good look. Dominick’s invested over $3 million to transform the store into one of its “Lifestyle Stores.” It’s the 31st such store in the Chicago area and the 1,000th store nationwide with Safeway.
The new store will contain a wider selection of fresh produce, breads and organic products that offer healthy organic choices for the entire family, including babies and toddlers.
Dominick’s has served our community at the Gateway location for nearly 10 years. I’m thrilled they are recommitting themselves to the 49th Ward with this newly renovated store.
Dominick’s and I are celebrating this wonderful milestone by giving back to the 49th Ward community. In conjunction with the Grand Re-Opening, we’ll kick-off the season of giving by donating 100 bags of free food and turkeys to 100 needy families in the community.
Dominick’s will also be donating a portion of the $748,000 it has raised this year for breast cancer research and awareness to the Illinois Department of Human Services and City of Chicago Department of Health.
Joining me at the Grand Re-Opening will be Don Keprta, the president of Dominick’s Finer Foods; State Representative Julie Hamos; and Ken Maher, the executive director of the Greater Chicago Food Depository.
I hope to see you there!
