Please join me next Monday for one of a series of “Vision Planning Open Houses” that the CTA will be hosting on the north side regarding improvements to the Red Line. The open house for those who use theHoward, Jarvis, Morse and Loyola stations will take place Monday, November 30th, 6:00-8:30 p.m. at the Loyola Park Fieldhouse, 1230 W. Greenleaf (at the Lake), 2nd floor.
I have been working closely with my northside aldermanic colleagues, state legislators and Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky to encourage the CTA to devote some of its resources to much-needed improvements to the Red Line stations and tracks. The CTA has secured some federal funding for a “Vision Study” as the first step in the process.
At this open house, you will be able to let CTA officials know about any concerns you may have with the Red Line and provide feedback and ideas for the renovation of the stations and tracks along the Red Line. This is a terrific opportunity for our community to stress the importance of renovation to the Red Line, especially the Morse, Jarvis and Loyola stations.
If you cannot attend Monday night’s open house, but would like to share your thoughts with the CTA, please send an e-mail to NorthRedPurple@transitchicago.com. I’d like to hear your thoughts, as well, so make sure you copy my office at email@example.com on any correspondence you send to the CTA.
If you have any questions about the meeting or the CTA’s planning process, please reply to this e-mail or call my office at 773-338-5796.
In the meantime, have a very happy Thanksgiving!
