I am writing to invite you to attend a community meeting to review a Loyola University proposal to construct a student residence hall behind Wright Hall, 6364 N. Sheridan (at Kenmore). The meeting will be held on Tuesday, June 21st, 7:00 p.m. at the Simpson Living Learning Center, 6333 N. Winthrop (at Sheridan).
The proposal calls for the construction of a six-story student residence hall known as the “Center for Sustainable Urban Living.” The building would be constructed in the parking lot behind the current Wright Hall and contain 213 student dormitory units, a green roof, greenhouse and green courtyard.
The proposed development requires a zoning change from RM5 to a Planned Development designation. The development also requires the approval of the Chicago Plan Commission.
The floor plans, elevations and a rendering of the proposed “Center for Sustainable Urban Living” are attached below:
I urge you to attend the meeting to offer your opinions of the proposal. If you are unable to attend, please feel free to reply to this e-mail with your thoughts and suggestions.
