Come Out Tuesday Night and Join Your Neighbors for the “National Night Out”

August 4, 2014

Dear Neighbor,

Join 24th District Police Commander Thomas Waldera, your neighbors and me in one of the “National Night Out” community events in Rogers Park TOMORROW NIGHT (Tuesday, August 5th). This is a nationwide event that celebrates the important role community residents play in partnership with the police in preventing and solving crimes.

As the recent arrests of two more suspects in the tragic Devon Avenue shooting demonstrates, crime prevention is not solely the responsibility of the police. It requires individual members of a community, working hand-in-hand with law enforcement, to stand up and advocate on behalf of the safety and rights of all residents.

To further build on this important partnership, National Night Out events are taking place tomorrow night in each police beat in the 24th Police District.

Below is a map of the 24th District that delineates each police beat, followed by a list of tomorrow night’s events in each beat in numerical order:

Several items will be raffled off for the children and Freddie of Freddie’s modern Kung Fu will give a demonstration, too. So plan to make it a family night and show your support.
