Travel the world this weekend without ever leaving the 49th Ward. Dance to the beat of music as diverse as our community and sample flavors from every continent on the planet at the 7th Annual Celebrate Clark Street Festival this Saturday, July 28th (1 to 11 p.m.), and Sunday, July 29th (1 to 10 p.m.) on Clark Street between Morse and Estes. I am proud to join the lead sponsor–the Rogers Park Business Alliance–in bringing this marvelous festival to Rogers Park.
Last year, more than 20,000 people attended the festival and sampled the culturally diverse marketplace of our unique and historic community. With two stages of live World Music (curated by Sound Culture Center for Global Arts), wonderful ethnic restaurants, entertainment for children and a diverse market, the Celebrate Clark Street Festival promises something for everyone. Suggested Donation: $5 per person, $10 per family.
My staff and I will be at the festival both days taking city service requests. Look for the 49th Ward Satellite Service Office booth, and enjoy the festival!
