If you receive City garbage and recycling pick-up, I am writing to alert you to the possibility that the City next week may change the usual day your recyclables are picked up. This is because next Friday, July 3rd, is a City holiday in observance of Independence Day. The City is altering its usual garbage and recycling pick-up schedule to account for the four-day work week.
My Ward Superintendent, Dan Murphy, tells me garbage pick-up next week in the 49th Ward will take place on its usual Monday and Tuesday schedule, but that the recycling pick-up schedule may be altered.
Please plan accordingly and have your recyclables ready and accessible for City pick-up beginning on Monday morning, just in case the City changes the schedule in our area. The recycling pick-up will return to its usual schedule after the holiday.
By the way, my 49th Ward Service Office staff and I will also be taking the day off next Friday, July 3rd, for the City holiday, so the office will be closed that day.
