Rogers Parkers always come together to help a neighbor in need. It’s one of our greatest strengths. Our neighborhood is stepping up once again this Saturday, this time to help a young man who was viciously attacked after trying to help others.
Poitin Stil, a small neighborhood pub, in the Jarvis Square business district is hosting a benefit for Michael Davis (pictured on right) this Saturday, July 6th, from 7:00 p.m. to close. You may have read or heard the press reports. About two and a half weeks ago, Mike stepped in to break up a fight between three men in the pub. Two of the men waited for him outside and viciously beat him with a baseball bat.
Mike remains hospitalized in intensive care. Doctors predict he will need long-term care. In the meantime, police detectives are tracking down several leads in the case, but no arrests have been made.
Saturday’s benefit to help cover Mike’s living and long-term care expenses will include a silent auction, raffle, and bag toss and pool tournaments. Poitin Stil’s distributor donated a keg of beer, and all proceeds from sales of the beer will go to Mike. The MorseL Restaurant plans to donate food for the event.
Stop by and join your neighbors and provide some support for this wonderful Good Samaritan.
