Dear Neighbor,
As you may recall, I hosted a community meeting in April about a proposed zoning change to allow for an auto repair and body shop at 7238-40 N. Rogers (between Ridge and Damen). Approximately 40 community residents attended the meeting. In addition, I received email comments from another 20 community residents.
A few residents supported the proposal, believing that the proposed business would be an improvement over the vacant, run-down building that exists currently. But the vast majority of residents who offered an opinion opposed the proposal, believing that an auto repair and body shop was incompatible with the primarily residential area.
Based on the community input, the applicant, Sabir Makdoom, agreed to withdraw his proposal and has placed the building up for sale.
I thank everyone who attended the meeting or provided comments to me via email. They were extremely helpful to me.
Sincerely,
Joe Moore
