Hear the latest neighborhood and City Hall news without leaving the comfort of your home. I will be appearing on Cable Access Network’s (CAN-TV) live call-in, “Political Forum” program. The show will air TONIGHT (Wednesday, May 18th), 7:00 to 7:30 p.m., on cable channel 21 and streamed live online at cantv.org/hotline.
I am honored to be the first Political Forum guest in CAN-TV’s new state-of-the-art studios! This will be your chance to get the latest updates on news in the 49th Ward, including new businesses that have opened in the ward, the results of the 49th Ward’s Participatory Budgeting election, the status of Sullivan High School’s efforts to obtain a $10 million grant to reinvent the school, and the police and community response to the latest violence.
As Chairman of the City Council Committee on Housing and Real Estate, I will also provide the latest news on the City’s proposed new regulations on Airbnb and vacation rentals, my upcoming hearings on discrimination against section 8 voucher holders and the implementation of the City’s Affordable Requirements Ordinance, which requires real estate developers to include more affordable housing units in their developments.
It’s a live call-in show, so please phone in with your questions and comments on these or any other topics.
