Dear Friends and Neighbors,
I am pleased to introduce my reformatted website at www.Ward49.com. I hope you will take some time to visit the site and share your feedback with us. Let us know what additional features you would like to see.
The site includes information on legislation I have proposed to the Chicago City Council including the recently adopted Big Box Living Wage Ordinance, a resolution calling for a Universal School Breakfast Program and an Order calling for the elimination of the failed Blue Bag Program and implementation of an effective Source-Sorted Recycling Program.
The 49th Ward Street Sweeping Schedule is posted on the site along with information about zoning,landlord/tenant concerns, news and events.
As you can see from the photo in this email, construction is about to get underway at the Gale School Community Center. Stay abreast of the development and view the other photos by visiting the website.
From the site you may email any of my staff members with requests for city services. I hope you will use the website as an extension of the 49th Ward Service Office.
Don’t forget, however, that if you ever need to meet with me personally you may do so by appointment or by dropping in during my weekly Ward Night on Wednesdays from 5 pm to 7 pm at the Ward Service Officelocated at 7356 N. Greenview just east of the Jarvis ‘El” Station. Call the office ahead of time (773-338-5796) just to make sure I’m there.
Thank you for caring about our community. I hope to see you this Sunday afternoon from noon to 4pm at my Annual Back to School 49th Ward Picnic taking place at Loyola Park at Farwell Avenue and the lake.
Very truly yours,
Joe Moore
