A man accused of the rape of a Rogers Park woman two years ago near the Lunt entrance to the Morse Red Line station pleaded guilty last week to three counts of aggravated sexual assault and was sentenced to 36 years in jail.
The sexual assault occurred in the early morning of December 19, 2012. As I reported at the time, the assailant’s image was captured on CTA security cameras, which helped lead to his arrest.
The assailant, James Minor, age 20, has been incarcerated since his arrest. Under the terms of the guilty plea, he must serve at least 85% of his sentence and the time he has already served will NOT be credited.
I thank the Chicago Police Department and the Cook County State’s Attorney for their arrest and prosecution of the person who committed this horrendous crime.
