Last Chance to Provide Your Input on Proposed Ward Improvement Projects

Posted: 3/7/2010

Dear Neighbor,

Monday, March 8th, is your last chance to provide your comments and suggestions on the proposed neighborhood improvement projects that will be put to a vote of the entire 49th Ward community in April.

Join us for a Neighborhood Assembly Monday, March 8th, 7:00 p.m. at the Loyola Park Fieldhouse, 1230 W. Greenleaf (at the Lake), 2nd floor.  This is the latest step in my "Participatory Budgeting" process that will allow 49th Ward residents to decide directly how to spend the Ward's $1.3 million "menu money"--discretionary funds received annually by each Chicago alderman for infrastructure improvements in their wards.

You will hear from six volunteer committees about projects they're proposing to be placed on the election ballot on Saturday, April 10th.  You'll then have an opportunity to offer your feedback and suggestions on the proposed ideas.

For information on how the Participatory Budgeting process works in the 49th Ward, click here.

To get a look at some of the projects that are being proposed and to offer your own ideas, visit my Participatory Budgeting blog:

I look forward to hearing your input tonight.

Sincerely,

Joe Moore
