FOX Chicago Gives Kudos to Ald. Moore's Service Office
Dear Neighbor,
FOX Chicago News last night reported on the results of an investigation into Aldermanic responsiveness to service requests, and I'm pleased to report that they gave my office a perfect score.

FOX Chicago conducted the investigation of all 50 Chicago aldermanic ward offices after receiving complaints that some offices were not responding to service requests. They arranged for a team of callers to leave 150 after-hours service requests--three for each aldermanic office--over the last two months. Messages were left specifically for the aldermen regarding potholes, garbage and rats.
FOX Chicago reported that my office was one of only 14 aldermanic offices that responded in a "timely and helpful fashion" to all three of the voice mail messages.
Since my last election, I have worked hard to improve my office's response to service requests, and the results of the FOX Chicago survey bear this out. The results of this survey are even more gratifying since I am currently short one staff person, due to a long-term illness of one of my employees. Also, many of my aldermanic colleagues enjoy additional staff because they are committee chairmen or share offices with other elected officials.
Next time you communicate with them, please congratulate my chief-of-staff, Betsy Vandercook, and my assistants Michael Land, Nicole Summers and Wayne Frazier. Wayne deserves special kudos because the services FOX Chicago requested were in his areas of responsibility.
Because of city budget cuts and city employee lay-offs and furlough days, we cannot always guarantee that the city will fulfill your service request as quickly as in the past, but we will return your call or e-mail and give you an approximate time you can expect the request to be fulfilled.
As hard as we try, occasionally a call or e-mail still slips through the cracks. If you sent an e-mail or left a phone message that has not been returned recently, please use this opportunity to let us know. Reply to this e-mail or call my office at 773-338-5796. We will either take your call immediately, or respond to you within one or two business days (please keep in mind that this Friday and Monday are unpaid city holidays).
Thank you for allowing me to serve you.
Sincerely,
Joe Moore
