Help is Available to Possibly Lower Your Property Tax Bill
Dear Neighbor,
Over three hundred people attended our Property Assessment Appeals Seminar to get help on appealing their property assessment. Because of the overwhelming response, I have asked the Chicago Tax Assistance Center (CTAC) to come to my 49th Ward Service Office next week to provide one-on-one assistance for people who wish to appeal their assessment and possibly lower their property tax bill.
The expert staff at CTAC will be available to meet with you personally next Wednesday, July 22nd, 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., at my 49th Ward Service Office, 7356 N. Greenview (at Jarvis).
Please bring your "NOTICE OF PROPOSED ASSESSED VALUATION," which you should have received recently in your mail.
The Chicago Tax Assistance Center and I stand ready to help you save on your property taxes. CTAC staff will help you understand your options for lowering the assessed value of your property and/or your property tax bill.
If you are unable to visit my office next Wednesday, you may visit the Chicago Tax Assistance Center in Room 101 of City Hall (121 N. LaSalle Street), Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. No appointment is necessary.
Cook County Commissioner Larry Suffredin's web site also provides an excellent overview of the property tax reassessment and appeal process, including step-by-step instructions on how to appeal your assessment and links to all the relevant documents and web sites. CLICK HERE for information on the appeals process.
Remember, the deadline for Rogers Park Township property owners to submit appeals to the Cook County Assessor's office is Friday, July 31st.
If you have additional questions, please reply to this e-mail or call Michael Land in my office at 773-338-5796.
Sincerely,
Joe Moore
